See the below message from the Chief to our members:
Members of Hereford Volunteer Ambulance Association,
I am writing you today to wish you a Happy Emergency Medical Services Week. EMS week runs from May 20 until May 26, 2018.
Emergency Medical Services Week was originally started in 1974 by President Gerald Ford and it continues each year in May where we honor our EMDs, EMRs, EMTs, ALS Providers, Educators, and Emergency Department providers. The care that you, as a First Responder, are able to provide, from the time a community member calls 911 until they are received at the hospital, is an critical part of their overall outcome. Your skills and interventions create positive impacts on definitive care and discharges for patients every day.
The American College of Emergency Physicians, who sponsors EMS Week each year, has declared this year’s theme “Stronger Together.” Healthcare is strongest when pre-hospital teams and in-hospital providers work collaboratively to enhance patient outcomes.
You, as part of the healthcare team, are able to make lasting differences in our patients lives. I thank you for dedicating and sacrificing your life to our craft.
Please consider visiting Hereford Volunteer Ambulance this Saturday, May 26, at out Pit Beef for special recognition of our paid and volunteer providers.
